Street Children Project, Bangalore

Shree Sharada is a street children project in Bangalore. It looks after around 45 children without parents, aged from 3 to 14.

The care provided covers accommodation, meals, clothing, medical treatment, school fees and help with homework. A follow-on project continues to look after the young people up to the age of 16 and seeks to place them in apprenticeships.

Franz-Josef Steger from Frammersbach, a former Bosch Rexroth employee, has supported the project since 2017. It is led in Bangalore by his former colleague Mr R. S. Pradeep. The project is funded through donations from Indians in Bangalore and from Franz-Josef Steger, who has built up a circle of supporters and donors in Germany.

Since 2020 the Rexroth Foundation has supported the Shree Sharada project by matching the donations it receives.
